Cosmos bipinnatus ‘Sensation Mixed’ Cut Flower Seeds
This little cracker looks great in the garden as well as a flower filler for your arrangements.

It grows to a height of 1m and has a single solitary flower on each feathery foliage stem. The 3.5cm flowers have petals that range from white to pink to carmine with yellow centres. This half-hardy annual is easy to grow and takes around 12 weeks from sowing to flowering.

Sow Dates:
Apr-May
Site:
Full sun, moist well-drained soil.
How:
Either direct sow seeds into flowering position every 25cm in rows 25cm apart (if in cutting garden) or scatter seed in final position and lightly cover with fine soil.

Alternatively sow thinly in a seed tray and cover with a thin layer of fine compost 0.5cm deep. Keep covered at a temperature of 21°C. Germination takes 7-10 days. Carefully pot on when seedlings are about 3 weeks old. When risk of frost has passed, harden off plants & transplant outside spacing 25cm apart in rows & between rows or just position in garden where required.
Care:
Pick regularly to encourage more flowering.
