Molucella Laevis 'Bell of Ireland' Cut Flower Seeds |
|
Molucella Laevis has lovely apple green bracts of bell-like appearance held on 60cm tall upright stems. It acts as a foil to flowers, giving texture & form and adding interest.
It is great for cut flower use and for drying. It is however a little temperamental and needs a bit of care to help with germination which can be erratic but well worth the extra attention.
Approx 125 seeds per pack.

How:
|
Seed first needs 'stratification' which means put in a fridge for 5 days. Then direct sow seed outside every 25cm, in rows 25cm apart. Germination may take between 14-28 days. They can be started off in a greenhouse first (this will help to ensure a plant will be at each station), but still 'stratify' the seed first and harden off for 3-4 days before planting out.
