Panicum violaceum 'Panic Grass' Seed |
|
Panicum violaceum is a lovely grass with wispy draping flowers tinged with purple.
It looks great with pastels as well as rich crimsons and reds and so will suit a cottage look or contemporary arrangement. It makes an ideal cut flower filler or dried flower and grows to 70cm tall.
Approx 100 seeds per pack.

Full sun, well-drained soil.
|

How:
|
Direct sow seed thinly outside in drills 6mm deep and rows 30cm apart. Lightly cover with fine soil. Thin to 30-40cm apart when seedlings large enough. Germination can be erratic anything from 10-90 days. (Seeds can also be sown into plugs in February–March to grow on & then transplanted outside when fully rooted).

Keep watered in dry conditions and keep weed free. Remove any leaves below the water line in a vase.
